Using Four-digit Dates

When using Microsoft Programs, there are different ways inserting the date into documents:

01/01/00
1/1/0001/01/2000
1/1/2000

All of the above express the same date of January 1, 2000

Most of your computers are set for a two-digit year (YY)

If you want to change the year to four digits (YYYY)

Click Start button on the bottom tray
Click Settings
Click  Control Panel
Double click Regional Setting

Select the Date Tab

Set Short date style :  Select MM/dd/yyyy from the drop-down list

Set Long date style : Select dddd,MMMM dd,yyyy from the drop-down list

Or, Select the date display that best suits your office needs

Click OK
