Word 2000 and higher have a number of new character formats. Some of these are static formats, while others are animation effects. Highlight the text to format. Static Effects Click Format
The Strikethrough I used as an editing feature.
The Double strikethrough is often used in legal documents.
Shadow effects gives the text an additional dimension.
Outline format looks great when it is printed.
Emboss effect changes the text color from black to white. The text is raised over the background.
Engraved effect changes the text color from black to white. The text is sunken or etched into the background.
Some of these effects can be used in combination.
